Update 26 May 2009
SEPI-UK will again be represented in the ‘public gallery’. Please email us with questions. Also, visit the HPC website for agenda and relevant materials. So far, per HPC, the Register for psychotherapists & counsellors may open as soon as 2011.
Update 30 April 2009
SEPI-UK is represented in the ‘public gallery’ of HPC meetings. On 29 April, the Working Group (PLG) deliberated over the first draft standards of proficiency (SoP). It is important to note that the first draft of the standards being developed to regulate our profession are structured upon the HPC Generic Standards of Proficiency, which will be subject to separate review and consultation this financial year. The other agenda items for the 29th (i.e. protecting the title ‘counsellor’ and voluntary register of transfers) were tabled, and we understood they will be further developed in PLG sub-committees. Click here to download related materials, including the 1st draft Standards and the timetable.
Please visit this page after 03 May to download our notes from the meeting, with points of debate and deliberation regarding the draft standards of proficiency for your information.
The next meeting will be on 26 and 27 May 2009.
The full calendar of upcoming meetings is available on their site as well, or by clicking here. Note that the meeting materials and background papers are usually available for download the week of/before each meeting.
You may wish to access the archive from the previous PLG’s meeting (beginning in Dec’08) and background materials: click here
